About Me
Thank you for visiting with us. I love whitewater sports and wanted to share with you my love for the sport. I feel that together we can create an awesome sport that many will enjoy. I also, like to share what I have learned to help with new beginnings with the sport.
YOUR STORY
I began with whitewater rafting at the age of 15 on the Nantahala River outside of Asheville, NC and loved every minute. It was some of the coldest water that I have encountered coming from a cool mountain river, but one of the highlights of my life. I had so much fun with this sport that I went on to learn how to kayak, to roll a kayak, in which I teach this today. I have guided whitewater rafts down many rivers including the French Broad, in Asheville, the Chattooga River, in South Carolina, and the Ocoee River the site of the 1996 Olympics. I decided to go work for Perception Kayak company working with the equipment. I was able to share my personal experiences with the research and design department as I tried out the latest and newest equipment out there. I love the Kayaking Watersport and all White Water Sports. This is a wonderful sport to be involved with.
I enjoy being one with the water and sharing the experiences with others. It is neat to try the latest equipment and to see how the industry has grown from oversized boats to specialized boats today.
WHY YOU WANT TO HELP PEOPLE
I love to share the joy that I have reached from being in the whitewater sports. I feel that everyone has a hobby they like and this particular hobby is very rewarding and challenging. The challenge is generally between yourself and the river. You have to learn the currents and more importantly, learn to listen to your human instinct. When you try something new, you feel a sense of accomplishment when you are successful with it. This sport will give you that satisfaction and others are generally there to cheer you on along your journey.
THE GOAL OF YOUR SITE
Through this you will gain a better understanding of whitewater sports and gain a love for whitewater sports. There are many approaches to the sport and this is just one of them.
If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
Ryan
